After...
one year of being on this adoption journey,
six months and three weeks of being on the waiting list
and eight weeks of being "on deck"...
we are happy to announce that we received our referral call today at 12:22 pm!!!
What an amazing, emotional day! It was so surreal to see our child's face for the first time through an email. Incredible. We are thanking our Heavenly Father for blessing our family with such a beautiful treasure. She has the hugest brown eyes, chubby cheeks and absolutely gorgeous skin! We are so in love.
At this point we need to wait until our family is assigned a court date before we can actually go to Ethiopia for our first trip and meet her. Unfortunately, a lot of families ahead of us are in the middle of a court/paperwork issue, and they are looking at court dates a few months from now. We are praying that everything gets straightened out so all of us can bring our kids home as soon as possible. Also, until she is legally declared our child, we are not permitted to share photos online publicly.
Thank you all for your love, prayers and support. We still can't believe today, 12/16/10, was really THE DAY we have been waiting for all year long! What an amazing Christmas gift.

Congratulations! How exciting for you guys. We pray that the court dates will start to really come soon, and that they will have everything that they need so that you can pass.
Yaaay!!! So excited for you guys! Praying the court day comes sooner than everyone expects. She sure does have a cute hand!!! Can't wait until you pass court and can show everyone all her pictures!!

Two years ago when we got our referral on December 16th, we received a court date of March
11th. I will hope and pray that you receive your court date ASAP!!
