Twas the Night Before We Head to Ethiopia

Hey, anybody have plans tomorrow? 'Cause we're kinda catching a plane to Africa, baby! Woo HOO!! Lillian, we are coming to meet you, baby girl! We were busy all weekend packing, organizing, praying, crying with excitement, nervously laughing, etc, etc, and it looks like we're all done and ready to go!

So here's what we're taking: two large suitcases, one duffel bag, two Rubbermade containers, two carry-on suitcases, two backpacks, two cameras, one video camera, two neck pillows.....

All of our checked luggage pieces have 50 lb limits, and every single one of them is about 49.8 lbs. We're cutting it close. That luggage scale was my BEST FRIEND these past couple of weeks. If you don't have a luggage scale and you're in an international adoption process, go get one right now.

Anyway back to the luggage....four out of the five checked pieces are filled to the brim with donations from family, friends, adoption buddies and also some new connections we made who are starting up a non-profit organization in Ethiopia. We cannot wait to hand deliver everything to the various places we'll be visiting, and we plan on updating our blog with more on that later.

Today was an awesome day. We felt so surrounded by love and support from our family and friends. Thanks to all of you who prayed, texted, emailed, called, winked, etc. We felt your love, and it meant the world to us. We were so touched when our two pastors prayed for us at the beginning and end of the morning service, especially in light of the current situation with MOWA.

Can't believe tomorrow is IT. Hoping to somehow keep up with the blog while we're in Ethiopia. If not, we'll be sure to catch up when we're back (no sassy comments about how we are terrible about keeping up with our blog. I KNOW! :o))

As crazy excited as I am to get on that plane tomorrow, there is a big part of me that is dreading it because I am going to miss my Cole so. stinkin. much. I know he is in AWESOME hands. And he is super excited about getting one present every day. But still. Half of my Mommy heart is in Ethiopia, and the other half is in Pennsylvania. But hasn't it been like that for the last year already?

We love you all! Thanks for sharing in our joy and excitement. Please continue to pray that our court date on March 21 will go well, that MOWA will provide the recommendation letter needed and that we will PASS COURT so Lillian can be legally our daughter!
